Travels: Where We Go
The two summer sessions take place in different locations.
The first session is an entirely domestic program. Beginning at our base camp, we utilize several nearby National Forests. Ranging in elevation from 2,000 to just over 6,000 feet, and with several thousand miles of hiking trails, hundreds of designated mountain biking trails, excellent friction and crack climbing spots, and great whitewater rivers, this area is ideal for a fantastic variety of outdoor activity.
The second session takes students to Western Australia, to the northern Kimberley region near Broome. This area is known for many Aboriginal communities, its tropical weather, boab tress, dramatic gorges, and rugged desert terrain. We explore the Indian Ocean coastline and King Sound to the east of the Dampier Peninsula.
Both sessions finish up with a few days back at the CRI base camp in North Carolina.
